A Short Trip To Detroit

Immediately after Dr. Beck’s (yesterday) class and photocopying class-notes from Wil Slough, we (Dr. Ranjit and myself) started our journey to Detroit. I drove until the bridge, as I was more familiar with the route. After about 4 hours of drive, we were in St. Ignace and Dr. Ranjit took over the driving from thereon. We stopped in Bay City for dinner (Taco Bell - the worst service ever) and reached Troy by 9 pm. Red Roof Inn was much more than what I had expected.
Today, we left the hotel around 9 am - after taking a wrong turn (thanks to Yahoo! Maps) and roaming around for a while, we were back on I-75 and on our way to Detroit. It took little more searching to figure out the location of the Green Card Office (INS Support Center). While Dr. Ranjit was busy with his work, I went to IHOP (International House of Pancakes) and had a short stack of Buttermilk Pancakes - it was indeed very tasty. Dr. Ranjit was done with his work around 11.15 am and we started our return journey around 11.45 am. We stopped in several places (West Branch was one of them) and reached the bridge around 4 pm. I took over driving in the UP and we were back in Houghton at 9 pm (inspite of spending about 40 minutes in Marquette Taco Bell for dinner, talking to three seventh graders).
