I roamed around a bit today - trying to capture different things with my new camera — Nara Trails (just outside Houghton on US-41S) and Downtown Houghton.

I love the shadow cast by spiralling stairs in the last shot. I am continuing to be pleased with this camera but realizing that using macro filters (not lens) is not a very good idea — wondering if I should buy a 105mm macro lens. Couple of people I have talked to have recommended Tamron or Sigma brands — these are pretty darn *cheap* compared to Nikkor ones but still pretty expensive (FYI, I am still open to accept that *extra* grand or two you have for spare!). Let’s see for how long I can hang on to these filters…
