O Winter, Where Art Thou?

Week following my trip to the holy Lambeau Field (Wembley / Lord’s of American Football) was quite hectic. Research work progressed smoothly enough inspite of yet another scheduled power outage, the RAID setup in my server continued to bother me before Thanksgiving break started. Talking about Thanksgiving, this was the first such event in last three years that I was not at Phil’s Cabin, which burnt down this summer
Pretty good memories of that place though… This Thanksgiving was also the first such in last five years that there was NO SNOW. The maximum snow that we have seen up here is the early morning frost-like thing on grass and windshields - leaves me wondering what’s wrong with the UP weather? Continuing with Thanksgiving, this event also brought few of my good old friends (Raja Kountanya, Seshasai Srinivasan, Aditya Kapoor,…) back to Houghton and it was good to catch up on old times with some of them. A short, but suspense-filled ride to Gratiot River Park (a very very quiet and pretty place, with Gratiot River joining L. Superior) was the main event of this long weekendish holiday.

About snow, usually weather gods plan to dump a lot when students return to Tech from their home (or return to home, as some of my friends would like to say it, from their parents place) but I have been told that good weather is supposed to continue for another 7-10 days… Anyway, wouldn’t affect me too much as yours-truly is off to the state where our US-41 has its southern tip for a 4-day, business-attire-mandotary conference ![]()
