iPhone Software Update 2.0
2008.07.11 @ 12:23:45 -0500 under Mac, iPhone
Belonging to the kind of neophiliacs who just can’t prevent the itch for new things as well as cannot rest until trying it out, I too connected my iPhone (the 2G version) to iTunes and hit the Update button. Things looked slow yet promising but then came a series of dreaded error messages (I should have figured that there are a few million others who are trying to do the same thing at about the same time and especially so after dear friend Amy warned me, but you know how it is with folks like us):

Following a how-to-do advise from Amy, I even took out the SIM card from iPhone and put it in my backup instrument but the itch just kept getting itchier. Few more tries and a bunch of error messages later, my iPhone finally - after about 2 hours of struggle and misery - synced up (being patient and some random luck helped I guess) and to say the least, I am very pleased with the added features - the color coded calendar display, some cool App Store Apps (AIM, YPMobile, SportsTap, Facebook, WeatherBug, NYTimes, ZipCode, Google, Remote, …) being my favorites so far.
Wish I could say the same about the whole update process though…
