WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SIGNS SEVEN RECRUITS FOR 2009-10
HOUGHTON, Mich. — Head coach John Barnes has announced the signing of seven student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to play women's basketball at Michigan Tech beginning next fall. Michelle Gaedke (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford), Kate Glodowski (Amherst, Wis.), Samantha Hoyt (Arkansaw, Wis./Durand), Heather Kessler (Antigo, Wis.), Samantha Manderfield (Houghton, Mich.), Taylor Stipple (Woodbury, Minn./Stillwater) and Kelcey Traynoff (Beach Park, Ill./Regina Dominican) make up the Huskies 2009 recruiting class.

JUNG NAMED ALL-AMERICAN HONORABLE MENTION
Michigan Tech senior Jen Jung was named to the 2008 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Div. II All-American Honorable Mention Team. Jung is the first All-American selection for Michigan Tech since Marisol Mosquera was named to the first team in 1997.

CULY, HAIDAR AND SALIGA TO PLAY MEN'S BASKETBALL AT TECH
HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Michigan Tech men's basketball team has added three student-athletes to its 2009-10 roster it was announced today by head coach Kevin Luke. Alex Culy (Rice Lake, Wis.), Ali Haidar (Windsor, Ont./Forster) and Nathan Saliga (Leonard, Mich./Romeo) will all attend and play basketball at Michigan Tech next fall.

BOWE AND HOLT PUSH TECH TO 81-58 WIN OVER FINLANDIA
HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech received big games from Fedrick Bowe and Georgio Holt to defeat Finlandia 81-58 today at the SDC Gym. Bowe tallied career- and game-highs of 22 points and 15 rebounds while Holt added a career-best 17 points to help the Huskies move to 3-2 on the season.

BEMIDJI EARNS 3-0 WIN OVER TECH HOCKEY
Bemidji State scored a goal in each period to defeat Michigan Tech 3-0 in a non-conference titlt tonight (Nov. 28). The Huskies (2-10-1) out shot the Beavers (4-7-0) 23-19 in the game.

KEITH WHITE NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA FIRST TEAM
TOWSON, Md. — Michigan Tech football student-athlete Keith White has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America College Division First Team it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The senior is the Huskies' first Academic All-American in football since Joe Berger was a first team pick in 2004.

VOLLEYBALL HAS TWO PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-REGION TEAM
Michigan Tech had two players named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Midwest Region team today (Nov. 26). Senior Jen Jung was named a first-team selection and junior Veronica Armstrong was an honorable mention selection. With her region honor, Jung will be placed on the ballot for AVCA All-American honors.

FIELD GOAL SHOOTING THE DIFFERENCE IN UMD'S 66-54 WIN AT TECH
HOUGHTON, Mich. — Minnesota Duluth made 51 percent of its field goals including 8-of-16 3-pointers to defeat Michigan Tech 66-54 today at the SDC Gym. The visiting Bulldogs (3-2) outscored the Huskies (2-2) by six in both halves.

MAVERICKS SCORE TWO POWER PLAY GOALS TO CLAIM 4-2 WIN
No. 11 Minnesota State scored a pair of power play goals to skate away with a 4-2 win over the Michigan Tech hockey team in WCHA action Saturday (Nov. 22). The Mavericks (7-3-2, 5-3-2) finished 2-3 on the power play and Tech (2-9-1, 1-8-1) was 0-3.

NO. 7 TECH SUFFERS FIRST LOSS OF SEASON AT MSU MOORHEAD
MOORHEAD, Minn. — Michigan Tech suffered its first women's basketball loss of the season at the hands of Minnesota State Moorhead 70-66 today. The Huskies battled back from a 13-point deficit to 69-66 with the ball and 12 seconds to play but couldn't get the equalizer.

MEN TOP ALMA 66-46 IN SEASON HOOPS OPENER
HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech outscored Alma 38-19 in the second half to come away with a 66-46 victory in the men's basketball home opener at the SDC Gym tonight. The Huskies held the Scots to just three field goals in the second half to improve to 2-1 on the season.

SAGINAW ENDS TECH'S SEASON IN NCAA TOURNAMENT
The Michigan Tech volleyball team had its season come to an end after it lost to Saginaw Valley State 3-0 (17-25, 23-25, 20-25) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament this afternoon (Nov. 21). Saginaw (23-7) will face Northern Kentucky tomorrow in the second round. The Huskies finish the year with a 19-11 record, its best finish since 1997 when it finished 23-13.

JUNIOR HOCKEY NIGHT SET FOR SATURDAY
Michigan Tech hockey will hold its third annual Junior Hockey Night at Saturday‘s (Nov. 22) game against Minnesota State. Any youth involved in the CCJHA, Calumet, Keweenaw Bay or Ontonagon Hockey Associations who wear their junior hockey jerseys will receive $3 admission to the game.
